on july 8-13, I went to turks and caicos with my parents and my best friends, kyndle and anna. we planned the trip this past spring and have been anxiously awaiting.
we were supposed to leave around 5 am that monday morning to go to the tulsa airport, fly to dallas, and then, to turks. kyndle came to my house to spend the night. around midnight, my dad called me. our flight from tulsa had gotten delayed, which would have caused us to miss our connecting flight. we would have to leave at 4 am and drive to dallas.
so, that’s what we did! we drove to dallas, coffees in hand. once we arrived, we had more issues. since we had technically missed our tulsa flight, our dallas flight was canceled. We had to get new tickets at check-in. we got them just in time. just minutes after, the system limited what could be done, and we wouldn’t have been able to get the tickets.
we finally got through check-in and tsa and met up with anna. i was so excited for the three of us to be reunited! we got snacks, and it was time for the dallas flight. we boarded and arrived in turks three-four hours later.
We had the best five days! We swam in the ocean and pool, tanned, parasailed, snorkeled (they did, not me), had delicious dinners and INDULGEd in lots of ice cream. My best friends and I made memories of a lifetime and made plans to continue a yearly trip–even when we’re gray and old. Here’s to years of sunset swims!
