Washington, D.C. Recap Day 1 and 2

Hi, readers!

At the beginning of christmas break, my parents and I visited washington d.c. we left the friday of finals week, so i went directly from norman to d.c.

we stayed at the hay-adams hotel and were there for about 6 days (2 travel, 4 full days). it was the best time.

the hotel was amazing, and if i could pick a hotel aesthetic for myself, it would be the hay-adams. the decor is classic yet vintage, and it was beautifully decorated for christmas!

Our first full day, we did mostly outside sightseeing. We started off with the World War II memorial. It was truly humbling and beautiful.

Then, we visited the Lincoln Memorial and washington monument. The view of the washington monument was surreal. They were doing construction on the lincoln memorial though.

I read a book about the nurses and women in vietnam-Women by Kristin Hannah. These memorials were definitely on my list of things I wanted to see, and the women’s memorial was on my top 3 of things we saw.

I don’t have any pictures, but we went to the holocaust museum right after. The Daniel’s story exhibit was especially heartbreaking.

After that, we went back to the hotel and took a break for the day. My dad and I tried a diner that night as well!

It was an insightful day, and I immediately fell in love with D.c.

Stay tuned for day 3.

Keep living the dream,

Kayden
